Book access programs for banned and diverse books are essential. In places where books are banned from public institutions like schools and libraries, these programs may be the only way low-income kids can see themselves reflected in literature. The goal of this event is to connect booksellers who want to facilitate book donations with organizations equipped to distribute them. We will introduce different book access programs, discuss how to use book sales to support them, and consider different models for making it sustainable for your business. Registration is mandatory for attendance. The event will be hosted by ABA in collaboration with Authors Against Book Bans, the Independent Book Publishers Association, Red Wine & Blue, and others.

About ABA

American Booksellers Association is a national trade association that supports and advocates for the success of independent bookstores. We provide members with education, networking opportunities, advocacy, resources, and technology. In turn our members support local schools through book fairs, donations and author visits; promote literacy; provide inclusive community centers; connect readers and books; add character to neighborhoods; champion and center diverse and new voices; and contribute to the local economy. We feel honored to support them in their work.
